Cops: Man caught doing 100 mph on Northern Parkway in Carle Place

A Roslyn man faces reckless driving charges after reaching speeds of 100 mph Saturday on the Northern State Parkway in Carle Place, State Police said.

Colin Kelly, 21, of 53 Hillturn Lane, was speeding westbound in a gray Subaru with another car on the parkway near the Meadowbrook at about 3:25 p.m., a report said.

A trooper noticed the two cars and was able to pull over Kelly; the other car sped away.

Kelly also was making unsafe lane changes, the report said, forcing several vehicles to react unsafely.

In addition, Kelly is charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment and other traffic violations, police said.

Arraignment information from First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
