Officers saw him walk down the ramp to the end of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in Jericho early Monday, go to a work storage area and attempt to gain access to stored equipment with a power saw, police said.

Kevin Deturris, 39, of 34 Grant St., Farmingdale, is under arrest, charged with third-degree burglary and possession of burglar's tools, Nassau County police said.

Deturris is scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said the incident occurred at 12:15 a.m.

They said the officers, on patrol, saw Deturris walking east on Jericho Turnpike, then walk down the ramp to the Seaford-Oyster Bay. Once there, police said, Deturris went to the parked equipment trucks and storage containers of Welsbach Electric, removed a power saw from a backpack he was carrying, and attempted to gain access to the stored equipment.
