A 25-year-old Queens man, walking in a commercial area of Inwood, died after being struck by a sport utility vehicle at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nassau County police said.

The fatal accident occurred in front of 23 Nassau Ave., according to police.

Police identified the victim as Alexandre Pougatchev of Woodside and said he was transported to St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, where he was pronounced dead at 6:05 p.m.

The 49-year-old driver of the 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck that struck Pougatchev was not identified by police, who said no criminality is suspected.

The vehicle was impounded for a brake and safety check.
