A Uniondale man was arrested early Thursday after police said he fired a pellet gun out the window of his house, striking an unmarked police car.

Khalil Maye, 18, of 143 Lawrence St., was arrested at his home at 12:15 a.m., charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Nassau County police said that officers from the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team were traveling north on Lawrence when their unmarked police car was struck by two shots from a pellet gun. The officers then saw Maye at the window of his home.

Police said that an investigation found a Smith & Wesson air gun, a black laser sight and a silver CO2 cylinder inside the home. Maye was then arrested.

Maye is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

The officers were not injured.
