Police said he met the woman through a friend, drove her to his apartment to watch TV - then pulled out a handgun and demanded sex.

Now Slater Chaia, 21, of Langdon Boulevard, Lakeview, is charged with second-degree kidnapping after Nassau County police said he threatened the 21-year-old woman at gunpoint and even locked the bedroom door before eventually letting her leave Wednesday.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m., police said.

They said that after meeting the woman, Chaia took her to his apartment, where the two went into the bedroom to watch television. Then, police said, Chaia produced a silver revolver and "demanded sex while threatening the victim."

The woman attempted to leave, but police said Chaia locked the bedroom door.

Finally, after what police called "numerous refusals by [the] victim to have sex," Chaia finally let her leave.

She reported the incident and Chaia was arrested Friday at 12:35 a.m. at his home.

He is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
