A robber wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins cap ran off with money Friday from a Mineola bank, Nassau police said.

The man handed a note to a teller at the Bank of America on Jericho Turnpike just before 3 p.m., police said. After getting an unknown amount of money, he took off through the doors to the parking lot and ran in the direction of Washington Avenue and Mineola Boulevard, police said.

The suspect is believed to be in his 30s, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, and wore a baseball-style cap with the logo of Pittsburgh's hockey team and a black hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Detectives said anyone with information can call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
