Cops: Man punched 88-year-old woman
A Franklin Square man who police said punched his 88-year-old mother in the stomach once during an argument was arraigned Sunday on an assault charge.
Police arrested Raymond W. Booth, 57, on Saturday and charged him with second-degree assault and criminal mischief for breaking a picture frame in the house.
Booth lives with his mother on Herman Avenue, police said.
"He was intoxicated," said a spokeswoman for the Nassau County Police Department.
Police received a 911 call, the spokeswoman said, but it's not immediately known who placed the call.
Booth, who pleaded not guilty, was held on a $7,000 bond after his arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead.
