A man walking in Franklin Square Saturday night was struck in the head by three assailants and robbed, Suffolk police said.

The 41-year-old man was walking on Franklin Avenue and Scherer Boulevard at 10 p.m. when three men approached him from behind, said police. One of the men struck the victim on the head with an unknown object and went through the victim's pockets. The men left the scene with a cellphone and men's watch, police said.

The victim was treated for his injuries at a hospital.
