Cops: Man shot in Hempstead

A 20-year-old man was shot in the hip on a street in Hempstead Saturday, village police said.

He was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, where he was in stable condition, police said.

Police said the shooting took place at 12 Windsor Pkwy. in Hempstead at 5:04 p.m.
