Cops: Man shot three times in Hempstead

A man was shot three times Saturday afternoon near Terrace Avenue and Bedell Street in Hempstead, police said.

Authorities responded to the scene about 4:30 p.m. The victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, police said.

The man was listed in critical condition, but the wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, according to Hempstead police.
