A man was arrested late Thursday after police conducting a narcotics investigation said he was observed selling cocaine near an intersection on East Main Street in Oyster Bay.

Frank D. Mejia, 24, of 50 Glen Cove Rd., Oyster Bay, was arrested by Nassau County police Narcotics / Vice Bureau detectives at 11:34 p.m.

He was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Mejia was arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead and ordered held on $50,000 cash bail or bond.

Police said that, during an investigation, Mejia "was observed" in the vicinity of Audrey Avenue and East Main Street selling cocaine.

It was not immediately clear Friday how much cocaine Mejia is alleged to have sold.
