Cops: Man sought in Hempstead bank robbery
Nassau police detectives are investigating the Friday afternoon robbery of a Hempstead bank.
A male approached a teller at TD Bank, 252 Peninsula Blvd., shortly after 2:30 p.m. and presented a robbery demand note, Nassau County police said.
"The teller complied and the subject fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash on foot in an unknown direction," police said in a news release.
None of the seven workers and two customers in the bank at the time were injured, police said.
The robber wore a New York Yankees cap, a blue plaid shirt and blue pants. He was in his 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a mustache, police said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
