Cops: Man stole liquor from restaurant

Nassau County police arrested a 20-year-old Locust Valley man Saturday morning in the theft of a bottle of liquor from an upscale Italian restaurant in East Norwich.

Jose Fuentes, 20, of 278 Forest Ave., entered Luce Restaurant on Oyster Bay Road through a side window, police said. He stole a bottle of liquor and exited through the entrance door of the restaurant, police said.

Seventh Precinct officers responded to the scene upon receiving a call for an alarm, and found Fuentes walking on the sidewalk from the parking lot entrance to the restaurant, police said.

The bottle of liquor was recovered in the shrubs outside of the restaurant.

No injuries were reported.

Fuentes faces a charge of third-degree burglary and will be arraigned on Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
