Cops: Man struggled with cops after crash
A Franklin Square man was arrested Sunday after he struggled with police officers who had responded to a car accident involving his parked car, police said.
One officer injured his right arm and was treated and released from the hospital, Nassau County police said in a Monday news release.
Bryan K. Gotthoffer, 44, of 131 Grange St., "became angry and obstructed an ongoing police investigation" in the 6:34 p.m. accident, police said.
Gotthoffer yelled, "causing a large crowd to gather," and he "was told several times by the officers to stop interfering with the investigation," police said.
After refusing the commands of police officers, he then struggled with them while being arrested, police said.
He was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Gotthoffer was to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead. His arraignment information was not immediately available.
