Cops: Man threatens bus rider, robs phone
A 43-year-old Hempstead man was arrested early Friday and charged with third-degree robbery after Nassau County police said he approached a man who had just gotten off a bus, told the man he had a gun and stole his cellphone.
James Robinson of Pinelake Drive was arrested after the incident on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead at 12:35 a.m., police said.
Police said Robinson was identified by the 49-year-old victim, who was not injured.
Robinson is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
