Cops: Man waiting for bus in Lakeview shot

A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg while waiting for a bus in Lakeview early Saturday morning, Nassau County police said.

The victim was waiting on Woodfield Road across from Clinton Avenue at about 1 a.m. when, police said, three unidentified suspects got out of a car and approached the man. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the right leg. The other suspects got back into the car and fled north on Woodfield Road, police said.

The victim was later taken to an area hospital by a Nassau County ambulance. Police said he suffered nonlife threatening injuries.

The suspects all wore dark clothing and dark masks covering their faces, police said.
