A Massapequa man who was driving so erratically Thursday on the Southern State Parkway in Massapequa that other drivers reported him to police faces a drunken-driving charge, state police said.

Christopher Melillo, 41, of 182 New Hampshire Ave., was driving a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup near Exit 30, Broadway, at about 11:22 p.m. when police responded to reports that he was crossing over hazardous markings, police said.

After stopping the pickup, troopers said they detected an odor of alcohol and that the driver had bloodshot, watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

Melillo provided a breath-analyzer reading of 0.19 percent, police said, and was arrested.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and several traffic violations.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
