Cops: Men rob acquaintance in East Rockaway
He invited two acquaintances into his home in East Rockaway on Tuesday, police said, but the two men then flashed handguns -- and robbed him.
Arrested a short distance from the house where the robbery occurred were Dwight Dobson, 21, of 30 Cottage Place, Roosevelt, and Tawaun Gordon, 24, who has no known address. Both men face charges of first-degree robbery.
Police said Gordon was taken to a hospital after his arrest -- because he ingested "an unknown substance." His condition was not immediately known.
The robbery occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
After being invited into the home, police said Dobson and Gordon both displayed handguns, stole the cellphone and a wallet containing a credit card and personal papers -- and fled the scene on foot. Police said the cellphone and wallet were recovered.
Dobson faces arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead. Gordon faces arraignment upon release for the hospital, police said.
