As the bookkeeper at Future Tech Consultants in Mineola, Mark Bloom of Brooklyn issued a lot of checks - among them, police said, 20 in his own name for almost $60,000.

Police said they have arrested Bloom, 34, and charged him with second-degree grand larceny, three counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree falsifying of a business record.

He is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Nassau County police said Bloom began the scheme on Oct. 31, 2008, and said it continued until April 30. During that time, police said, Bloom issued himself 20 fraudulent checks worth $57,895 - the money deposited in his account.
