Nassau police said someone stole money from the offerings box at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Franklin Square, Nassau police said.

Detectives said the burglary occurred between 10 p.m. Friday and 7:10 a.m. Saturday, when a church volunteer discovered the theft. Several doors had pry marks on them; a metal candle offering box was also pried open and an undetermined amount of money was missing, authorities said.
