<a href="/topics//Nassau_County,_NY">Nassau</a> County police said they could find no apparent criminality in a Monday traffic accident in which 86-year-old female driver struck an 85-year-old man walking in <a href="/topics//Freeport,_NY">Freeport</a>. 
 Police said Tuesday the woman was driving east on Atlantic Avenue in a 2009 Toyota at about 12:50 p.m. when she struck the man, who was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk. 
 The man was airlifted to <a href="/topics//Nassau_University_Medical_Center">Nassau University Medical Center</a> in <a href="/topics//East_Meadow,_NY">East Meadow</a> and is listed in serious condition, police said. 
 Police checked the car's brakes at the scene and found no issues, a spokesman said. 
 This story has been changed to correct the age of the driver.
