Nassau police detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting late Wednesday in Roosevelt that left a teenager wounded.

A 2001 Infiniti driven by a 23-year-old woman and occupied by two men, ages 20 and 19, "was pulling into the driveway of a Pleasant Avenue residence when multiple gunshots were fired at the vehicle," Nassau County police said in a Thursday news release.

The shots were fired at 11:55 p.m. "from an unknown vehicle that fled westbound on Pleasant Avenue," police said.

The 19-year-old, who was in the back seat, was struck by a bullet and taken to an area hospital with a non life-threatening injury, police said. There were no other injuries.

The police department's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted police to the gunshots.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to anonymously call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
