Cops: Pair had drugs, forged credit cards

The driver and a passenger in a car stopped after making an illegal turn were arrested Thursday in Elmont, police said, when they found drugs, fake driver's licenses and forged credit cards in the car.

The driver, Renandson A. Parfait, 21, of 1627 Albany Ave., Brooklyn, and passenger Edker Hough, 57, of 2402 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, were arrested after the stop near Benson Avenue and Ludlam Place at 7:15 p.m.

Both were charged with seven counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, while Parfait additionally was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and vehicle and traffic law violations. Bail for each was set at $5,000 bond or $2,500 cash at their arraignments Friday in First District Court in Hempstead; they are due back in court Monday.

Nassau County police said that during the traffic stop Parfait was found to be in possession of marijuana and during the subsequent investigation police found he had a fraudulent driver's license -- along with forged credit cards. As part of the investigation, police said they found out Hough also had fraudulent driver's licenses -- and forged cards -- in his possession.
