Two Queens men were arrested early Tuesday in Elmont after they stole money from automated teller machines by using fraudulent cards, police said.
Fifth Precinct police officers "were advised by a passerby of two men acting suspiciously inside the Chase Bank" in the 200 block of Linden Boulevard, Nassau County police said in a news release.
The officers saw Jason Rowe, 29 of Beach Channel Drive, and Jonathan Harrison, 24, of 108th Avenue, at an ATM machine, police said.
Investigators determined that the suspects had repeatedly inserted fraudulent Visa debit pay power cards "encoded with stolen information" into ATM machines to withdraw cash, police said.
Rowe and Harrison were in possession of several thousand dollars and multiple cards, police said.
Each was arrested at 2:40 a.m. and charged with first-degree defraud, third-degree grand larceny and second-degree forged instrument, police said. They were to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court, Hempstead.
