Cops: Pedestrian, 65, killed in Seaford accident
A pedestrian died Tuesday night after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing Merrick Road in Seaford, police said.
There was "no criminality involved" in the accident that killed Bryan Flack, 65, of Seaford, Nassau County police said in a Wednesday morning news release.
Flack was crossing the road northbound at the Jackson Avenue intersection at 5:39 p.m. when he was struck by a 2008 Nissan Frontier driven by an unidentified 65-year-old Massapequa man, police said.
"The driver, who was heading southbound on Jackson Avenue, made a left turn to head eastbound on Merrick Road and struck the victim," police said in the release.
Flack was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries and pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m., police said.
The Nissan Frontier "was impounded for brake and safety checks," police said.
