A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Sunday night while crossing South Middle Neck Road in Great Neck Plaza, police said.

The pedestrian, whose name and gender were not available, was taken to a hospital with head injuries and was listed in serious condition, police said.

The accident, near Great Neck Road and the Great Neck Long Island Rail Road station, happened at about 6:10 p.m. Sunday.

Further details were not immediately available. The case is still under investigation.
