A Queens man was arrested Friday afternoon in the theft of a jewelry box from a Great Neck home where he was working as a plumber, Nassau police said.

Raymond Gonzalez, 35, of Ozone Park, was charged with third-degree grand larceny after police said he stole the jewelry box -- with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry inside -- from the master suite of a home on Ridge Drive East on Monday.

A police spokesman said Gonzalez, working for Great Neck-based Thomas Curley Plumbing & Heating Co. LLC, was in the home Monday when he asked to use the bathroom. He went upstairs to the bathroom in the home's master suite and stole the jewelry box, the spokesman said.

Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
