Cops: Port Washington man faces larceny charge
A Port Washington man faces a charge of grand larceny after he bounced checks worth nearly $6,000 in August, State Police said Wednesday.
Antonio Raimo, 42, was arrested Wednesday, after State Police investigators said he made off with $5,800 from the People's United Bank at 61 Shore Rd., Port Washington.
In August, Raimo opened an account at the bank and deposited two checks totaling $5,800, police said.
Soon after, police said he made withdrawals for all the funds. However, the two original checks later came back as canceled because of insufficient funds, police said.
Raimo is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
