Cops probe assault at Westbury block party

The attendee of the party on Maplewood Drive was approached at 2:30 a.m. by an unknown man in his mid-20s, police said. After the assailant motioned to the man, he looked down and realized he had been cut in the abdominal area, police said. The assailant, described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall with short hair and a beard, fled on foot south on Maplewood Drive, police said.

The victim was treated and released at an area hospital, police said.
