Cops probe Baldwin Ramada Inn robbery
A man with a silver handgun robbed a Baldwin hotel early Friday, stealing cash before fleeing the scene, Nassau County police said.
No one was injured.
The armed robbery took place at the Ramada Inn on Sunrise Highway at 4:47 a.m. Police said a 39-year-old male employee was the only one on duty when the gunman displayed the pistol -- and demanded cash.
The gunman is described as being approximately 6-foot tall, 225 pounds, and police said he wore a white scarf over his face with a green jacket, white shirt and black pants.
It was not clear how much money was stolen.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
