Cops probe Cedarhurst street robbery
Two men who police said had been "secreted in an alley" attacked a 15-year-old girl on a Cedarhurst street Monday evening, punching her in the face and stealing the contents of her handbag, including gift cards, cash and an iPhone.
The robbery took place at 6:45 p.m. on Central Avenue, Nassau County police said.
Police initially said the victim was a 44-year-old woman, but later corrected the information to say she was a teenage girl.
Though injured and in pain, police said the girl declined medical attention at the scene.
Police said the two attackers, who wore dark-colored clothing and hoodies, ran off.
Police are now asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
