Cops probe crash that killed Wantagh man

Homicide detectives are investigating a Sunday car crash in Seaford that killed a 68-year-old Wantagh man, Nassau County police said.
Andrew Tax of Wantagh was driving a 1988 Oldsmobile on Sunrise Highway at Washington Avenue at about 7 p.m. when he collided with a 2012 Honda, police said.
Tax was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:49 p.m.
Police said they are unsure about the direction in which Tax was driving at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Honda, a man, 47, also was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks, police said.
