Cops probe Elmont street robbery
Police are investigating the Wednesday night robbery of a pedestrian in Elmont.
The victim, a 19-year-old man, was walking south on Elzey Avenue in the area of Blackstone Street at 9:30 p.m. when two males walking north passed him, Nassau County police said.
"The victim was then approached by one of [the] subjects who put a sharp object in his side and demanded property," police said in a news release.
Police said the victim surrendered a handheld game console and the suspects fled north on Elzey, toward Hempstead Turnpike. The victim did not report any injuries.
