A gunman robbed a Franklin Square bank Tuesday and ran out a rear door with money, Nassau police said.

The robber approached a teller at the Franklin Avenue Citibank branch just before 3:15 p.m., showed his handgun and demanded money, police said. It's not clear how much cash he got, but he escaped through the parking lot and was last seen heading north into a creek bed by the CVS store, police said.

Detectives said the robber was in his 30s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a thin build and shoulder-length brown hair. He was wearing a camouflage T-shirt; a green, hooded jacket; black jeans and white sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
