Cops probe Franklin Square burglary
A resident returning to his home in Franklin Square on Monday afternoon found a man burglarizing his house, police said.
The homeowner confronted the burglar, who then fled.
Nassau County police said the incident occurred inside a home on Rintin Street at 1:20 p.m. The burglar, who police said took jewelry from the home, is described as thin, in his late 20s or early 30s, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 6 feet, 1 inch tall.
Police said he was wearing a tan shirt, gray shorts and sandals and he was balding. He had brown hair, according to police.
No one was injured.
Police are searching for the burglar and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
