Two young men walking along a street in Freeport were robbed by three suspects who stole cash and a cellphone late Wednesday, police said.

Two of the robbers displayed handguns, Nassau County police said. Two of the three wore ski masks, police said.

Police said the incident occurred on Whaley Street near South Bayview Avenue at about 10 p.m. It was then that the two victims, aged 21 and 19, were approached by a man who began a conversation -- and, police said, then asked where he could buy "weed."

Within seconds, police said, the man pulled a black handgun and was joined by two accomplices donning masks.

One of the accomplices had a silver revolver, police said.

Police said the trio then stole cash and a cellphone and fled east on Whaley Street.

Neither of the victims was injured in the incident.

The investigation is continuing.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the street robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.

All calls will remain confidential, police said.
