Police are investigating a jewelry store heist Tuesday night at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville.

Two men posing as customers entered Kay Jewelers, 600 Broadway Mall, at 9:15 p.m. and "made verbal robbery demands," with one of threatening to use a gun "which was never displayed," Nassau police said in a Wednesday morning news release.

"The employees complied with their demands and handed over and undetermined amount of assorted jewelry," police said in the release.

The suspects fled the store and left the mall through the south doors, alongside Macy's department store, police said. Neither of the two workers present were injured.

Police described one of the robbers as 6 feet tall in his 30s, wearing a knit cap and a navy blue hooded sweatshirt. He had a dark complexion and a thin mustache. The second robber was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He was 5 feet 8 inches tall and in his late 20s. He had a stocky build and a scruffy beard.

Detectives urge anyone with information about the robbery to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
