Cops probe Massapequa Park burglary

Police said detectives were investigating a burglary Monday morning in Massapequa Park.

The burglary took place on Cypress Street and was reported about 11 a.m. after the owner returned home, saw the door was damaged, left and called police, Nassau County police said. Police said the area has been closed off as investigators search for suspects.

Details of the case are still emerging, but police said someone saw a man leaving the home and called 911. Police initially characterized the burglary as a home invasion but that was not the case, a spokeswoman said.

It was not immediately clear what was taken. No one was believed to have been injured, police said.
