Police are searching for a man who walks with a cane and speaks with "a heavy German accent" who went missing Saturday in Levittown.

Nassau County police have issued a Silver Alert for Holger Sonnenburg, 71, who was last seen at about 2 p.m. Saturday on Satellite Lane. They said Sonnenburg, who is 5-foot-10, 200 pounds, may have been headed toward New York City.

Police said Sonnenburg has gray hair and was wearing tan pants and brown shoes.

He walks with a cane and was carrying a satchel.

A Silver Alert is issued by police to help local a missing person who suffers from dementia or other cognitive disorders.
