Cops probe rash of stolen tires and rims
Someone's stealing tires and rims from cars in North Massapequa, Nassau County police said, and they're leaving those cars parked on piles of stacked bricks.
Police said there were five reported incidents between Monday and Wednesday evening -- all in North Massapequa.
Three of the incidents occurred Wednesday, the other two occurred on Monday.
Police said two of the cars hit Wednesday, a black 2011 Honda Civic and a gray 2011 Nissan, were parked on North Park Avenue. The other car, a black 2009 Infinity, was parked on Spinning Wheel Road.
The two cars whose tires and rims were stolen Monday were a gray 2010 Nissan parked on North Central Avenue and a red 2010 Infinity parked on South Park Drive.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the larcenies to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
