Cops probe robbery of bank in supermarket
Detectives are investigating the robbery of a Franklin Square bank in a supermarket Thursday morning.
A man entered Roslyn Savings Bank inside Pathmark, 460 Franklin Ave., at 10:40 a.m. "and presented a note demanding money to a teller," Nassau County police said in a news release.
The suspect took an unknown amount of money and left on foot, fleeing south through a parking lot toward Franklin Avenue, police said.
The two workers and two customers in the bank at the time were not injured, police said.
The suspect was described as 6 feet tall with a heavy build. He wore a gray sweater, black sunglasses and black baseball cap, police said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
