Police Monday were searching for two men who held a small black handgun to the head of a taxi driver in Roosevelt, robbing him of cash, a wallet, cellphone and a bracelet before fleeing.

The robbery took place near Pennsylvania Avenue and West Roosevelt Avenue at 1:23 a.m., Nassau police said.

No one was injured.

Police said the 55-year-old driver for All Island Taxi was dispatched to the intersection of Willow Avenue and Ingram Avenue to pick up the fare and, at that time, the two suspects entered the vehicle.

Police said when they arrived at the drop-off location, one of the suspects put a gun to the driver's head and demanded the victim "give them everything." The driver complied.

The suspects fled on foot on Nassau Road, police said.

Police said one suspect was about 5-foot-6 with a thin build and wore a green winter jacket. The other wore a black hood, police said.

Additional information was not available.

Police said anyone with information could call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
