Two teenage girls were robbed on an East Meadow street early Monday by a man who police said threatened to stab them if they didn't turn over their pocketbooks and cellphones.

No one was injured.

Nassau County police said the two girls, each 17 years old, were walking along Jeffrey Avenue just after 1 a.m. when they were approached by a man with "slicked back dark hair."

The man demanded the teens hand over their pocketbooks and phones, police said.

Police said the teens complied after the suspect threatened to stab them. The suspect then fled on foot toward Warren Street, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
