An unknown male entered TD Bank, 290 Merrick Rd., at 2:15 p.m., "and presented a demand note to a teller," police said in a news release.
The suspect took an undetermined amount of money and fled on foot, heading east on the north side of Merrick Road, police said.
Neither the seven workers nor one customer in the bank at the time were injured, police said.
The suspect was described as about 55 to 60 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, "wearing a dark baseball cap, dark hooded jacket, a scarf and jeans," police said.
