First Squad detectives are trying to piece together a shooting incident in Roosevelt Wednesday night that left a 21-year-old man critically injured with a bullet wound to his chest, Nassau County police said.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter call at 7:53 p.m. to Oak Street and Babylon Turnpike and found the man, according to a Thursday news release. He was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition, the release said.
