Cops probe serious Roosevelt assault
Police officers responding to a disturbance call regarding "a large party" at a home in Roosevelt early Sunday found a 22-year-old man with a "serious head wound" unconscious in a nearby parking lot.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was transported to a hospital for treatment, Nassau County police said. His condition was not immediately known Monday.
Police said the man was discovered in a parking lot on Nassau Road by First Precinct officers who were dispersing a crowd of partygoers at a home near the intersection of Henry Street and Nassau Road at about 1:10 a.m. on Sunday.
It was not clear how the man was wounded.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
