Cops probe shooting outside Hempstead bar
A 40-year-old Uniondale man was shot once outside a Hempstead bar but is expected to survive, police said.
The shooting occurred Sunday at 2:30 a.m. outside Las Gemalas on Main Street.
Nassau County police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his lower back and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the wound.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
No one has been arrested in the incident, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
