Nassau police detectives are investigating the theft early Friday of an exterior automated teller machine from an Albertson store.

The grand larceny occurred between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., Nassau County police said in a news release.

A Third Precinct police officer on routine patrol noticed that the ATM at Milk 'n' Things, 1181 Willis Ave., was "missing from the side of the building," police said.

An unknown amount of money was in the ATM, police said.

Third Squad detectives urge anyone with information about the theft to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
