Cops probe theft of gold chains at barber shop
Third Squad detectives are looking for a robbery suspect who asked for a haircut at a New Cassel barber shop Thursday but left with a worker's gold chains, Nassau County police said.
A man entered McBride's Barber Shop at 47 Union Ave. shortly before 9 p.m. and asked the victim, a 48-year-old man, for a haircut, police said.
The victim told the man that the barber shop was closed, and the man grabbed gold chains from around the victim's neck, police said.
The victim fell to the floor, and the man ran south on Malaney Avenue with the chains.
The victim had minor scrapes on his neck and arm, police said.
