A bearded robber stole money from a Valley Stream bank Wednesday afternoon, Nassau police said.

The suspect wore a black winter hat and black jacket when he entered the TD bank on West Merrick Road about 11:10 a.m. and handed a note to a teller, police said.

It's not clear how much money he got before he ran off on foot, going north on Central Avenue, police said.

Nine employees and four customers were in the bank, but no injuries were reported, police said.

The suspect appeared to be 20 to 30 years old and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery can call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
